Hi Drisgirl x

Think he'll be gutted, as he loved that mutt.........that's the hard bit about owning a pet...you're completely devastated when they pass away....i was when our Sheltie died.........cried my eyes out......for fluffs sake
Its tough - I went into deep mourning when my 17 year old cat died 6 years ago and swore never to get any more
It has made me feel very sad. I really like Paul O'Grady and he so loves animals. Buster was officially retired only last week when he made his last appearance. RIP Buster. I know I'm daft and people will say 'It's only a Dog' but pets become like family and we can grieve for them just as much.
Lofty...I feel the same.
Of course we do - we sometimes treat them better as well
Did he mention it on the show?
So very sad to read this. [:o(

Was he an old dog?

He was 14 mrs c and had cancer. Very sad. :(
Well I totally feel for him because my max was put to sleep on Monday night and I've been sobbing today when he was cremated. It's very difficult but a blessing when you can help them be comfortable and pain free.
Thanks Jan. Poor Paul O'Grady must be gutted. He loved Buster so much.

My thoughts are with you too, dot. xxx
Max had a cancerous tumour on his liver which we had no idea about until his liver started to shut down, in three days he lost so much weight, it's amazing what a dog's system can cope with and I only just realised that this week.
I know how you feel Dot.I had my beautiful golden Labrador put to sleep 8 weeks ago. Still shed tears.
Awww wendilla it's really awful to see them at the end, Max just sighed and passed so peacefully, he wasn't the same dog he's been a week earlier. Vets seem to be so good with it all, it must be tough for them but they make things make sense without sounding callous.
awwwwwww that is sad news xx
Just this side of Heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge - .

"When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigour. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together…"
