Overpayment of fuel bills

Can i ask for my money back ive paid in by direct debits ? im in credit for £431.25 on the electric and £116.23 on the gas !!
id like the electric money back but leave the gas money as il have the heating on over winter so itl get used anyway

most suppliers review their customers' accounts just once or twice a year, overpayments can sit on an account for several months. it depends on your supplier really, but you can most certainly ask for a refund and they should snd you a cheque.

you might want to get the dd amount amended as well.

Overpayments can sit on your account for years! I know as this happened to me.

Last year when I contacted my electric company over a large bill to be told that I was over £700 in credit with them. I was pole axed. The very very nice lady asked if i wanted it leaving in credit (yeah right!) or did i want it by return in the form of a cheque- guess which one I took?

you can ask for it to be put back into the account from which you pay it ladybird, afterall it is your money

Called them and im waiting for a callback within 10 mins ... im going to ask for the electric money back ,
