architects- heights

would a fear of heights prevent someone from being an architect ? (as i assume climbing tall structures would be part of job criteria)

You will limit the amount of jobs you were willing to take if your had a fear of heights but i'm sure it would not exclude you from being an architect altogether - most architecture is done in the office and you could relay anything through a project manager on site if you needed to go up high.
Most architects will spend far more time in offices than they will on construction sites but the job description, on the excellent Learn Direct site, does include climbing ladders and scaffolding:
