Reading the answers below and listening to the radio, it is obvious that there are a lot of people who are actually more sympathetic to Brown over this affair that against him.

I have never voted Labour in my life and am not keen on Brown, but even I feel sorry for him at this present time (though not sorry enough to vote Labour).

The Sun tried to demonise another person in recent history - Jade Goody - and the public revolted (excuse the pun) and actually supported her.

The Sun have recently come out in support of Cameron and this fiasco with Mrs Janes seems to be nothing but a personal attack on Brown. Since this seems to be back firing, what do you think the Sun will do next (regarding this particular story). Will Mrs Jane be hung out to dry, or will they continue this attack.

They'll most likely try and blame Mrs Jane I'd imagine, they'll try and make her out to be some kin of money grubbing compo seeker or something.

The Sun really hasn'tt changed at all in the 20 years since Hillsborough has it?

It's still a gutter rag that thinks it can run the country by manipulating it's readers
I agree with Jake. I think since this has backfired on them, they'll let it dwindle out.

Murdoch the owner of the Sun hates the Labour Party and the BBC in equal measure.
Are there really people out there who's politics and opinions are led / influenced ; by what the Sun tells them ? - very odd

If there are , one must assume that they are typical of the intellectuals you see on shows like Jeremy Kyle

Very sad .

Murdoch describes Brown as a 'friend' of his and says he 'has been unlucky as Prime Minister.

//"The editors in Britain for instance have turned very much against Gordon Brown, who is a friend of mine. I regret it. He has been an unlucky man."

Brown last week accused the Sun of trying "to become a political party", adding "it's not personal about Rupert, he's always been very friendly to me".//

"The Guardian cartoon depicted on Gromit's link is a total disgrace. Not only do they insult Brown's intelligence, but they make an outrageous reference to him being "Scotch""
I think you may be missing the point. They are lampooning The Sun, not Brown.

" I'm perfectly aware of which rag is being lampooned"
I still don't think you get it.
The cartoon depicts the front page of the Sun - it implies that the thoughts expressed are those of the editorial team of the Sun. The cartoon is not itself critical of Brown.
