Phoned the playstation company with a problem with my ps3 (disc not ejecting), basically they wont repair it as they lose money on repairs, however they will sell me a reconditioned one for £128. I have to send my old one back and they'll send replacement, which means they'll repair my old one and sell it as reconditioned! It's only 18 months old and i told them that its disgusting it only lasted that long, don't think they really care tho.
Anybody had similiar problems?

Yes, we were offered replacement or refund only. As far as I am aware they are able to do this but you may want to check in Law to see if you can force a repair instead.

thanks for that, bit the bullet and got a new one, with replacement cover!
Hi delmac85

We have local stores near here such as Game Player, who do on site repairs of PS3's etc and will be able to hopefully, repair the unit at a minimal cost to you.......my advice is shop around for repairs first........does'nt sound like a major problem if the disc wont eject.

Good Luck

Oh.....get a guaranteed cost on diagnosis of fault, so you know EXACTLY what the charge will be for repair.......if it's under or around £50, i would say you have a result.
