PROBLEMS CONNECTING MY PS3 TO A WIRELESS CONNECTION

I have been trying to connect my ps3 to my wireless internet connection and it will just not work. I have put in the required information both manually and automatically, but it fails to connect each time.

Any ideas or suggestions what I may be doing wrong? I have it connected through a ethernet cable at the moment

Any advice would be much appreciated.

My router has a pairing button which has to be pressed before attempting to connect any new device wirelessly.

Maybe it sounds silly,but have you got anything else connected to your router,just to make sure it is actually wireless?
I'm not trying to say you are stupid,but it's the kind of mistake I make!
