can you tell me what the problem could be when my nephew's moped wont start. It was driving fine and cut out, he has filled up the oil and petrol and after an hour of trying it started again. He drove for about a mile and it cut out again, now it sounds like it wants to start but wont. someone has suggested the carburetor but he doesn't seem to know where to find this and cannot get it to a garage as he would need to push it the whole road. Thanks concerned aunt in Glasgow.

Hi, it sound as if the plug is oiled up, take the plug out & thoroughly clean in petrol let it dry then re-insert, has he over filled the oil? if so drop some out.

Thanks very much TWR I have passed this on to him and as he has only bought this he will see if he can find the plug.I will check the net to see if I can find a diagram. thaks again.
If he doesn't know where the plug is and he does't know what a carburettor is he can only make it worse by fiddling with it, push it to a garage.

Try to find a moble mechanic.
