Hi, I want to tile the walls between worktop and unit in the kitchen, sounds easy, but the walls are clad in 70's style wood panelling. Its of good quality, the plywood is about 5 mm thick and well fixed to block wall.My main question is will the tile stick.

Many thanks

Yes u can even tile on tile
You need a quality tile adhesive/grout and patience. If the wood has a particularly glossy finish (gloss paint/varnish) you might want to strip it a bit first, just to make your life easier

depends of how firm the wall covering is, if it is flexible then the tiles will not last very long, it would need to be very well fixed and solid for you to tile onto it.
