it's easy to create a website yes. you can use a WYSIWYG editor such as the (terrible) frontpage, or a better one like dreamweaver. or you can hand code the site, which is always better.
regardless, you then need to buy hosting, and upload your site to their servers. you can get good hosting from about �20 per year.

Even I can manage to put a website together so it must be quite easy.

I'm in the process of cobbling my own together by hand.(writing in HTML).I would suggest visiting www.uk.geocities.yahoo.com as you can do the lot on that with no experience.You can even get hosting for free, if you don't mind having adverts on it.
I would also ignore the "www." bit in the above address, as it won't work!
