Could really do with some help here, pulling my hair out time!

Thought I had transfered i-tunes from old laptop to new via an external hard drive, all the albums are there on new, but when I sync, it deletes all and only replaces about 10 albums instead of 205. Luckily old laptop is syncing originals back.

Any ideas? Help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

have you got the external drive connected when you sync?
Question Author
No, disconnected.
are you sure you actually copied the files off the external drive onto the new laptop, or did you just import the folder, which will just add a link in the itunes index and leave the actual files where they are?

Try syncing with the drive connected.
Is your new computer an authorised computer. When you download from iTunes, you are only authorised to play the music on your computer and iPod

In iTunes go to the Advanced menu to authorise it.
