10.35 channel 4 - The master of psychological illusion returns for a new four-part series of audacious live acts - ten-minute tricks shown on Wednesday nights, followed on Fridays by hour-long explanations of how he did them. Derren is always very open about the fact that there's no "real magic" involved in his incredible feats, and that he draws on a whole range of skills to perform them. In the past, he's used the laws of probability - plus a lot of time and effort - to produce amazing effects. But although numbers are involved tonight, that can't possibly be the secret to this trick - can it? Derren's promising to predict the results of the National Lottery just minutes before the balls are drawn (and, sorry, three hours after the last lottery ticket goes on sale). It's clearly impossible. Yet with Derren's track record it would almost be more surprising if he didn't manage it.
Just a thought.

Isn't there a fhere a few seconds time delay between analogue and digital broadcasting?
yes but what difference would that make. he would still be broadcasting lottery show.
4getmenot - are you aware that Derren Brown is on Channel 4 while the lottery Draw is on BBC1?
. . . .and on Friday night Channel 4 he will be explaining how he did it.
that meant to say broadcasting live before lottery show. So Derren Brown live on Channel 4 then lotto live on BBC1 on analogue tv then same on digital just about 2 seconds later
Correct
why doesnt he predict them 4 hours before the numbers are drawn, him being all open and honest like...
he will use the time delay, what a knurl!
so therefore time difference makes no difference
