Can anyone remember name of male newsreader,probably from 1960s/70s who also wrote novels, in particular one about the Viking Invasion of Lindisfarne. Although young looking he was balding,First name could have been Andrew

Can't really help Mags but I vaguely remember reading a book on this subject by a news reader that was set in the present with a child having flash backs to the viking invasion triggered by the discovery of an old sword near Bamborough Castle. Don't know if it's the book you mean but it may ring a bell with some one
