Being an ex BT Staff I can tell you,you can't.I should say this only applies if the 1571 you have is the free one.

BT DO do one that has the following:~

Picking up messages from distant phone.

Altering message(your own voice) on your machine from distant phone

Altering duration of ring before machine clicks in,from distant phone.

If you check with BT Sales they will tell you how much the quarterly rental is for this service,it used to be about �6.00 but don't quote me!
