ipod gap between tracks?

Hi, Ive just bought an ipod and  i am very happy with it. However, When i put on an album like 'Dark side of the moon' or 'Sgt Peppers lonely hearts club band' there is a fraction of a second gap as the ipod changes tracks. It is very annoying when you are listening to something like the side two of 'Abbey Road'.  Is there a way i can get these albums to play smoothly without loosing the second long gap between tracks on normal albums.

in itunes, click preferences under the edit tab, then click audio from the tabs in preferences, and set the crossfade playback to 0. (will have to connect up ipod again)  This should stop the gap though i find it flows too quickly between tracks, especially when the tracks don't link.
oh just read your question properly, hmm i dont know for sure but if you set the crossfade playback to like 3 that should give a good comprimise. sorry don't know for sure.
It's a fault with iTunes. Each song is saved as a seperate mp3 file on iTunes and the only way to play them smoothly is to import them into a sound editing program and put them all together and save it as one big file.
This is an inherent problem with all digitally recorded files and music players (not just iTunes). The gap is always going to be there as the computer (or ipod or other mp3 player) caches the next track.

Cheers everyone. Im just going to have to play about with the preferences until i find that compromise as 3styler said. Failing that, i will just have to learn to live with it!
