How do I find the numbers of the key & the radio?

I have just bought a car but the seller did not know the code number for either the key or the radio. How do I get this information? The car is a Rover 420.

sometimes putting the radio in the freezer for 1 or 2 minutes can unbloke the code i hav'nt tryed it myself but have heard it works (its up to you)

I think the Freezer story is a myth :-) what youll need for the radio (not sure about the key) is a serial number that would be engraved on the side(or possibly stuck on) - from this a dealer will be able to give you the original code - cost of this usually under �10 - if you have the radio model details and this serial number there are trade forums that may be able to help you.
