Hello everyone! Haven't looked closely at the puzzle yet, am saving it for the train tomorrow. If you check in Doc - check last week's posts, I gave you a description of a hay-bob!
Rather expect I will be checking in on Thursday pm to catch up as am taking no 'aids' with me so doubtless will flounder.

Regards

Hi Devadolly, I'm moving on tomorrow to one of my sons. I can't print out EV until I get there so won't be looking at it until then either. I have a Franklin Bradfords Crossword Solver machine with me, but nothing else and am finding it pretty tough going at times. The Franklin Bradfords isn't anything like as good as the real thing, in my opinion, but has come up trumps every so often. Thanks for the hay-bob description - you live and learn.
If you check in on Thursday, you'll only be a day late!
Greetings. I have:
the subsidiary indications,
the unclued entries,
a completed grid, and
no idea what the occasion is!

In addition, I haven't been able to pair up the unclued entries. In a different thread (a digression arising within Inquisitor 137), turnerjmw has hinted that EV 875 appears in the appropriate week, so I'll give that some thought.
Hi to all
We had a glimpse of summer at the weekend and was able to pick the first peas, beans & blackberries for the freezer. Now back to norm - wet and windy. Dental appointment as well this morning :-(
Mustn't grumble though, Speravi, Maty has given the deadline for this puzzle!
Of course! Thank you ringer - and MatydaLover. I ignored my own first law: If there's ever anything posted on an EV thread that I don't fully understand, it turns out to be a hint.
Hello Everyone,
Have arrived back from the frozen north, which in all honesty was quite sunny. Actually managed to top up the tan!
Progress with EV sans Chambers was OK, arriving back to Herselfs flat in the Metropolis on sunday with access to an aged version confirmed most of the deduced grid entries, plus adding to a few other entries. Travelling further south today to a little more modern Chambers has resulted in completion. Sorry to have been beating about the bush!!
Devadolly, three things,
1 I hope the hay gathering went well!?!
2 Thanks for the hay-bob description!
3 Hope you had a good visit to the Metropolis!
Christiana, happy travels, from each of your family, suspect you are looking forward to migrating south!
Ringer, do you do home deliveries, lots of luvverly frute and veg!
Speravi, pleased you haven't given up on the EV thread!

Good hint, MatydaLover
Hello everyone - long time no N&C! I'm afraid that I'm reduced to griddling since I'm so tired I can only just manage to count, never mind work out cryptic clues. Hubby is busy harvesting, mini PG is cutting her third tooth and refuses to sleep during the day (or night much for that matter), and my childminder is on holiday - which leaves me with zero spare time. Hope you are all well. Haven't looked at this week's puzzle but wanted to say hello anyway
Hello Physicsgirl,
Sorry to hear you are inundated with domestic traumas and family demands! Nice of you just to drop in to say "Hello" though. Not much N&Cing going on this week! Copelander in Italy, DrB camping up a mountain in California and our "Founder" in the Metropolis doing things which can only be described as cultural! Looks as if Novalis has decided we are lost causes, and deserted us!
Even gen2 has gone quiet!
Hope minipg soon allows you both to regularise day and night! Have stopped "griddling" since the name was changed! It's like Sudoku. too logical!
Hello PG - good to hear from you. Sorry that you are suffering from sleep deprivation - believe me the time passes!
I'm also off on a holiday next week - to Norway so still no sun. Please accept my apologies for absence for next week and I hope we are back to full N & C ing soon.
Ringer, Hope you enjoy Norway, have been there couple of times. They were the dry-est times of my life! Alcohol was so expensive!! Herself's sister and brother-in-law went on a cruise through the fjords earlier this year, scenery spectacular! I think it was on the Queen Mary. There won't be too many dark hours during what we consider night-time! Your sleep hours could be as curtailed as Physicsgirls!!
Ciao ciao
Hello Physicsgirl. Nice to hear from you though sorry your holidays are proving an exchange of one pressure for another. You picked an auspicious day to say hi. Would love to see the fjords. One of my sons visited Iceland a couple of years ago Doc HH and I gather that too is mighty expensive. Hes latest trip was to Petra which he seems to have really enjoyed. Not giving much time to EV as weather here is good, so doing holiday things, but making progress.

Belatedly - Hello again! Good time in London but have floundered - big-time, far too interested in seeing what had been harvested and what not on the (now very short ) journey and too busy whilst there! Help?
Hello Devadolly,
Pleased you had a pleasant stay in the Metropolis. We missed you, there was not not much N&Cing at all while you were away!! Hope you came home suitably nourished, having found nice eateries! Still think you should have gone to Maggie Jones!!!!! But you prefer to ignore good recommendations, even from an Establishment person!
So how did harvesting go? Successfully hopefully!
Have spotted DrB on Q&A, so hopefully he will be contributing soon. Suitably tanned and now sleeping in a real bed rather than a camp bed up a mountain, albeit in California!
Hopefully we will communicate on sunday!!
Ciao ciao
