Is it my imagination or have i finally found something worth living for...no only kidding, does it seem to everyone else that The Answerbank is losing/lost it's cutting edge? It is no longer the thriving, vibrant community that it used to be. If things keep going the way they are - the convention will be a long, long night.

All hail sft42! And when btw is this convention? I realise I'm totally unaware of where or when this is meant to occur other than 'Glasgow'.

Why?
Ho hum another day another couple of answers pulled, oh well.....lisa the convention is on the 22nd of march next year the the Arta Bar in Glasgow.
I object to you discussing your convention under the category 'news'. I know that it is 'news', in that it is news to you, but if i started posting stuff about my hair, or who i met on the bus under the news secttion i would see some complaints. Are any of you hoping that any of the people going to the answer bank convention are women?
I think posting about the convention in every topic was not only a little over the top but also an abuse of the goodwill of the Answerbank people for allowing you to post anything at all about it! If I were the AB editor I certainly wouldn't allow you to keep calling it 'The Answerbank Convention', as this might, and clearly has in some cases given the impression that it is affiliated with AB. I think a lot of AB users need to realise that this is not their own little club where they can post personal messages. Why don't those who want to go to the convention join the Answerbook Yahoo group http://uk.groups.yahoo.com/group/answerbook/ or set their own group up to communicate with each other about the convention?

Totally agree with boognish and PaulYukochan76 - all these 'regulars' seem to think they own this place and that they decide who and who cant post messages. They seem to think it's their own little community as stated by boognish. I think you should get a life and use the answerbank for the use that it is intended - to get answers not to gather round with your friends and put on your anoraks and insults people that are not in your club.

Personally, I agree with Boognish et al about chatter. But, to help settle squabbling, this is a cut and paste from AB Terms of Use; "The aim of the site is to create an online community where you can exchange personal views and opinions with other users, on subjects that interest you. " so, if AB didn't want all the 'trish trash' they would say so. Wouldn't they? It may seem like a bit of a yawn instead of the cute and incisive Questions that most of us would prefer but I guess they have the right. So, for pure questions try http://www.guardian.co.uk/notesandqueries/ and for chatter, try a Newsgroup.
