My father in law told me something when I first moved in with my boyfriend at his (the father in law) house, and that was to never go to sleep on an argument.  Usually he spouts utter cr*p but this one thing stuck in my mind and I must admit that we rarely row anymore and there are never awkward/ stroppy silences that go on for days.  We're not Mr and Mrs Flanders by any means, and don't necessarily agree or settle the dispute before bed even if it means agreeing to disagree til things are sorted, but we always go to bed at least speaking to eachother.

We use that advice too. We've been married for 35 years this year and I can only remember not sticking to the advice, once, a long time ago (so long ago I can't remember why).

a post this week about regrets made me realise i don't tell people i love how much i appreciate them. i know it sounds a tad lame, but opening up to people about my feelings is a major thing for me. If one of them disappeared from my life tomorrow, my biggest regret would be not expressing my feelings for them, so even though i know they know they are important to me, i made a promise to myself to make sure i tell my family, bf and close friends just how important they are in my life.

I lay in bed last night counting to 50 and back as was suggested to get to sleep.  It worked :o)
