What do you reckon the greates guitar solo is? And I'm not talking about obscure songs that no one else has heard of.

Excellent tracks everybody.

I'm not being sarcastic at all NoKnow. I used to like the Belle Stars. They were around when I was turning from a kid to a teenager.
Yes, August 1962, number 1. Shadows might have played it on swap shop or whatever it was, but it was never a hit for them.

Guitar solo starts around 5 minutes in... brilliant!
I'm going to have 3.

The most moving 20 seconds of guitar ever are Hank Marvin, live at Cardiff, growling up the Fender strat keyboard, culminating in those glorious ringing high thirds.

Again, The Shadows, Turn Around And Touch Me - the guitars were tuned a tone higher than usual for this, it has one of the purest notes ever recorded, on the very top fret of the keyboard, and right up there too is arguably THE guitar note of all time, Mark Knopfler in Tunnel of Love.
Whoops, the Cardiff song is Atlantis.
And you are the man from ^
I have been to Cardiff yes, but was utterly relieved to get out again. There were bits falling off walls.
I been to Cardiff - it was shut.
I love Slashs guitar solo in November Rain and also the opening to Knights of Cydonia by Muse which reminds me of Telstar. Could be because Matt Bellamys dad was in the Tornados.
