Compaq Presario 2100 will not boot.

I get the following message when I try to boot:

PXE-E61 media test failure check cable.

Operating system not found.

I have tried pressing F8 to try and enter in safe mode with no success.

Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Worst case scenario - your hard disk has failed, your PC is has a boot list, if the first device fails, then it moves onto the next - the network adapter.

It may be that the system files on the hard disk are corrupt, but the data is intact.

If you have a friendly IT type, ask them to look at it for you.
