For some unknown reason my Start Menu and short cut icons have removed themselves from the bottom of my desktop screen to the top.
I wouldn't mind too much if they were in a straight line but they have now re-arranged themselves in a double row.
Can anyone please tell me how I can restore everything to the bottom of the screen.
I have tried dragging and dropping to no avail.

right click it, select unlock toolbar, then drag an drop i
You need to drag and drop the grey space on the toolbar back to the bottom. They are in a double row because the toolbar has been resized. To put this back to normal, hover the mouse over the top (or in your case bottom) of the tool bar until it changes to a double headed arrow then click and resize.
