His Royal Wagginess has an infection in his right ear which I have been treating with Panalog. Today I noticed a large swelling in his neck just below the jawline. I took him for a walk yesterday thru a wooded area. Could the swelling be an insect bite, or something referred from the ear infection? Will take him to the vets asap, but would like someone to put my mind at rest for now.
Thanks.

NoM...almost certainly an infected gland from his ear infection.

Panalog seems to be the appropriate treatment.

The swelling under his jay should burst in the next couple of days.

Bleedin hot in the Med and it is my snooker day.

Hi Sqad, thanks for that. We managed to find a vet in Denia and she couldn't believe the size of the swelling. He has a slight raised temp. but when she had a good look in the ear, she said there was a lot of infection and pus in there. She gave him antibiotic and anti-inflammatory injections, and we have to go back at 10am tomorrow to see her colleague, and to see how he has responded (i.e if the swelling has reduced). If it has, she will give him a week of anti-inflammatories, and a "long" course of antibiotics. She's also given us some Confite forte to put in his ears twice a day. Fingers crossed... !
