dementia in dogs

Is there any medication for dogs, my 13 yr. old retriever is showing signs of this, confusion, not sleeping at night, howling, its so upsetting to see this. Does anyone out there experience this.

been there ... done nothing ...
It's the price you pay for extending life ... dogs and humans.

as long as dog is happy ... it's just distressing for you ...
but then - you'll have to make a decision ...

personally I've always seen animals as animals and I think there are limits to what should be done - once a dog can't act like a dog ... it's not fair

there is a medication vivatonin but im not sure how effective it is x
