'The legal advice we have received indicates that the British National Party's constitution and membership criteria, employment practices and provision of services to constituents and the public may breach discrimination laws which all political parties are legally obliged to uphold.

Will the BNP change its rules to allow non whites and foreigners to join? Or will it flout the law?

Yes, ymb, that is my opinion. It seems history has taught BNP voters nothing. Having said that, I'm a great advocate of freedom of speech, I detest political correctness, and I don't believe any political party should be banned. Rather than continue to create resentment by ignoring the indigenous population's fears, or by using the big stick of legislation to stifle their opinions, this government needs to look seriously at the underlying reasons for the BNP vote, and address people's concerns openly and honestly so they wouldn't feel compelled to elect extremist politicians. The BNP's success this time should be a stark warning to us all, and the reasons for their rise should be acknowledged. The prospect of them ever gaining any real foothold creates a frightening spectre for the future of this country.
This is how they're breaking the law:

1. You are not allowed to join the BNP if you're black or Asian.

2. If you wanted to work for the BNP, you have to be a member.

Put those facts together and you have a problem. They're breaking Employment Law!
