I have been waiting for that film for such a long time! The trailers were absolutely awesome but when I saw the film I was disgusted. There was no need for so much violence. It would have been much better with a 15 rating!!!

no need for so much violence ? u were disgusted ? but u forced yourself to sit all the way thru it after blindly walking in to an 18 certificate film.its a film based on the violent graphic novel series so what else would it contain ?

I have seen it three times now, and i believe it improves on each viewing. I love the dialogue, the characters and, of course, the imagery/cosmetics/effects - basically the way the film 'looks'. Two of my friends who have similar film tastes to myself both hated it; one left after 30 minutes... Think it is definitely not a film for everyone. I didn't think the violence was unnecessary, for me personally it added to it, and from what i have heard it is merely mirroring the original comic books. It may just have creeped into my top twenty or so of all time....
I don't mean to be rude, but what age are you people? I'm 33. Is it a thing that 22 yrs get and no one else? I havent' seen it, just don't want to see if I'm gonna hate it. Can you let us know how it is, without spoilers? I've seen the trailers, looks right up my street, but you know trailers...

MargeB I am 34, and to be quite honest violent films are not usually my cup of tea.  but this film, although violent also had a comedic edge.  The characters are developed well, and when you bear in mind that they are a direct spin off from the comic books Rodriguez did an excellent job.  The script is excellent and mostly that of the comic books word for word.  I saw the making of Sin City yesterday and couldn't believe how much was done in front of a green screen.  The film is a breath of fresh air in terms of the drivel that I have seen lately.

im 36 and liked it also.

this film imo will be recognised as a landmark in the future for its amazing 'comic book' look.

i saw a trailer from something called 'comicon' which is a comic convention for all the geeks ! it showed the scene from the movie side by side with the original images from the comic book and the similarities were amazing.the lengths they mustve gone to to capture this look is breathtaking.

certainly looks remarkable - virtually black and white with occasional splashes of colour - looks very like the comic books. Sorry, graphic novels. But it's pretty sick. It's not violence as such - you don't see that much, and all the blood is red or yellow - but it's the way the characters all talk about how they're going to torture each other and what pleasure they're going to take in it; and the ornate ways of hurting people that Miller/Rodriguez come up with.. It has Tarantino written all over it - but somehow, while I enjoyed the apparently realistic Kill Bill because it wasn't realistic, I thought this film - which never looks realistic - sounded far too much as if it was wallowing in real sadism...am I making myself clear?
