My son wants a gamecube for his birthday with Mario smash football game. Isn't this a bit old hat? I googled Gamecube and there were lots second hand and about a tenner; is it worth getting one. He has a Wii, isn't that better?

its not worth buying a gameube as you can play the old gamecube games on the wii it has a little flap you lift up to put the old style controllers and memory cards in you might as well buy him a couple of old controllers and a few cube games if not you can always download old gamecube and nintendo games onto the wii from wii shop hope this helps.
I agree get your little brat a wii instead.
gamecube is a n old console, and your only going to be able to get faulty second hand ones now.
he already has a wii as i was suggesting to get the controllers and calling someones child a brat is not nice!!!
I am also a big fan of the gamecube, though if he has a wii, which also plays gamecube games, why not not get your son this for his wii?

in addition to my first answer, the wii does so much more than the gamecube, you can play the gamecube games on the wii, plus brilliant wii only games such as mario galaxy. while the gamecube does only play gamecube games.....

Thanks all for answers; he has the wii, I think he is just interested in trying the gamecube games on it so now from what you all say I just need the controls and a game or 2!

I am sure doomey you were just joking although I would never call another person's child a brat lol. I am not really bothered cos a brat is the very last thing my boy is : )
