An interesting product called BioNase I've come across recently that is supposed to provide "continuous relief from nasal congestion, runny nose, sneezing, itching and teary eyes without any known side-effects. It uses light technology which you stuff up your nostrils..

Does it work?

Don't know!

The only reputable trial that I could find was in the American Annals of Allergy and Immunology in 1999.........long time ago and that showed that 72% of sufferers noted improvement.

I will keep looking for you.
Sorry...can't find any British clinical trials, they all seem to be American.

If the contraption is not too expensive, then try it.
Wish to hell there was something!!
I am not a hayfever sufferer or at least havent been for 50yrs bu this yr the people (family -erm husband really) who have said stop sniffing and whats wrong with your eyes I could scream !!

I know all the products but why at my tender age shouldl I develop this? My dad is plaqued with it and both my children have varying degrees of symptoms (from their dad) -I dont get it -its the gritty eyes thats worse -looks like I have been hammered the night before !!
Drisgirl........you can develop allergies (hypersensitivities) at any age.

If it is only your eyes, as you say, why not use antihistamine eye dropss?
jno.......lol lol....lol......it works!
That'll go down well at the garden centre jno
Mornin robinia.......risque comment from you LOL

Have you seen my posting under PREGNANCY today?
morning sqad...yes, it has been noted
Robinia....don't forget to tell swedeheart LOL
wow, sqad, did you check it out in the two minutes between my post and yours?
jno...certainly did.
I can't think of any obvious reason why it shouldn't work for women too, but I'll leave that to Drisgirl as my nose seems fine at the moment.
ok, to get back to the original question, the light thingy up the nostrils doesn't seem to make any difference. Got one for littlemisspuzz last year, she is still using it hoping it might have some effect, but she is worse this year than ever.
Does give the rest of us a fright if she walks round the house with lit up nostrils tho.

I was ready to send off for one which was advertised in the press for about 50 and then noticed they are doing a similar version in Lloyds pharmacy (Boots) for under 15.
