Hi All,
I'm just over 14 weeks pregnant now, and feeling a lot better than the first 12 weeks, but I'm still really tired. At my last midwife appt she said my bp was slightly low, so I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it?
I've read that I should have a lot more energy at this stage, but it's not happening with me yet! Anyone else feeling the same?

with my first i was fairly tired until about 14 weeks but with my second it was near enough all the way through.

you will have blood tests taken (if not already) within next week or so and they will show up anything like aneamia.

try and eat little and often and eat iron rich foods and see if that makes any difference.

Your body is doing a lot of hard work, its inevitable that you will feel tired. I used to work 9-5, eat tea, fall asleep on sofa til 9, have a bath and go to bed 10-8. at weekends i slept near enough all the time
my daughter has just had her first baby and she was tired most of the way through her pregnancy. Bedtime at 9.00pm was normal for her. she too has low bp. Just rest and do what your body dictates. Eat nutritous food, and as was said earlier, plent of iron rich foods will help especially later. Everyone is different so ignore the books/forums which are just generalisations. You listen to your body, that will tell you the way it is. Good luck with this wonderful time in your life.
In the first weeks I was sleeping all the time and felt lethargic. Even now at 39+ weeks I'm still exhausted. I got up this morning at 10, had breakfast and went back to bed, then woke at around 1.30pm, had lunch, went back to sleep until 5.30pm when I had to get ready to meet friends for dinner.

Everyone is different and just because the books or internet sites say you should be feeling more energetic at a certain time in pregnancy, it doesn't mean you will. Apparently, I should have been sexually rampant in my second trimester, but I still have no interest.

Thank you, it was nice to get some other opinions. I'm slightly paranoid at times as this is our first baby and it has taken years for me to fall pregnant, so I guess I just need a bit of reassurance now and again.
Thanks for taking the time to answer.
any pregnant woman, whether having her first or tenth, has concerns and fears at times.
You may want to browse the forums for women due November (or Oct/dec, not sure what your due date is), maybe even join them too to talk to other at exact same stage as you.

Hi curly - congratulations. I'm 17+ wks and have only really started to feel more like my old self. I also have low BP and felt truly awful first 12 wks (much worse than when pg with my son 3 years ago) - be careful that when your energy does come back take care not to overdo things. Eat well sleep well and look after yourself - you deserve it!! xx
Hi hun, I am just over 14 weeks too, due December 9th! At about 6 weeks I had a few days where I was like the duracell bunny but since thwn I have been constantly exhausted and lethargic. I was concerned at first but now I know that everybody is different and I must have an energetic baby zapping my energy! Just take it easy and relax. X.
