My son wants to visit Australia for 12 months on a working visa - his brother has been living there for 9 months having married an Australian.  Does anyone know of an extremely cheap way of travelling there?  Any other advice gratefully received.

Do you mean a cheap way of getting to Australia?  Or a cheap way of travelling around Australia?

Well, both I suppose, but a cheap way to get there in the first instance.

air fares there are at their cheapest about now (winter down under), though that doesn't really mean extremely cheap.
