tarmac or flagging of driveway

can anyone tell me the going rate for tarmac or flagging a medium size lawn into a driveway for parking cars? I have been quoted several prices, one trader saying the other is no good doesnt help.

It really depends on the preparation work involved.  A lot of companies will clear the site and edge the area etc and you will find the actual 'tarmac' is the cheaper element of a quote.

Personally I would see how much of the work you can do yourself and literally purchase the tarmac.  Its difficult to say how much it should cost without the dimensions.  I would say approx. �1500 for 2 cars to park comfortably.

Don't use anyone who calls on speck, don't use anyone without a landline phone number. Obtain an estimate which shows exactly what work will be done and the depth of the tarmac, arrange to be there all the time they are there to check they do what they have quoted, a good firm will not mind. Don't pay any money up front. Ask friends etc if they can recommend anyone.  If you do not do the above you will get a very thin layer of tarmac that will crack and the weeds will grow through quickly
