as soon as you connect you ARE in effect downloading

not much at all - but it's there - depends if you have a connection time or capacity tariff

Thanks ACthe that's what I thought might be the case. It's with Vodafone , there's no monthly subscription or contract, I pay 15 each time it is used up and no more. So it's governed by how much it is used over any period of time. So theoretically it could last a year or more if it wasn't used much. Vodafone is the only supplier who who doesn't put a time limit on its use so it truly is Pay as you Go.
How much is your download limit?
Question Author
HillyHugger The 15 is for 1GB which they claim is roughly 30 hours of web browsing ,650 emails,30 two minute videos or 60 music tracts. I can't of course prove all these claims, but it amply covers my requirements

Hinoway Yes I think that is the normal arrangement but my family all use the the Vodafone option . The first payment of 39 includes the 15 for the 1GB and does not expire.
