hi i cought a litle fish in a large stream close to my house (manchester) it looks like a stickleback but without the "stickles" would it be ok to put it in my goldfish tank with my other goldfish

Could be a minnow. They can vary in size - but also, I've been told that some sticklebacks've all but lost their spines, so it still might've been one!

no dont put it in your tank it could have all sorts of diseases and you will end up losing your gold fish i have tried this before
It's probably a Jacksharp. Nice little fish, a bit greyish/silvery. I wouldn't put it in with your goldfish, but if you want to keep it, it would live quite happily in a tank of it's own. Then you could look for another one or two to keep it company. As kids we used to keep Jacksharps instead of goldfish. Where you found that one there are likely to be others.
