The BBC license fee is 112 per year total funds 2.3bn. Do you think they spend the money wisely or do you think the BBC should start advertising and abolish the license fee? Are you happy with the BBC as it is?

The BBC actually seem to put plenty of advertisements between the programmes albeit for their own shows. Since most of the time there is nothing on any channel that I want to watch and given the incredible amount of "reality" and "celebrity" cheap formulaic stuff on all channels I suppose I am not exactly happy that TV is as I would wish. However, looking at the wider picture including the wonderful BBC radio and web presence I would be very wary of too much tampering. I absolutely love being able to "listen again" to BBC radio via the internet (including the digital output I can't receive any other way) and look forward to the day when I can do the same with the TV broadcasts. I particularly fear that someone will try to "sex up" the glorious Radio 4.

Corbyloon:  what if you dont have or want an interactive television?   Do you still think it's worth it?  What i object is endless repeats.  LIike Dad's Army, Only Fools and Horses.  Yes funny enough but we need a break from them. Then there's over rated over payed presenters.  These people ae being paid 100,000s every year where there are many people out there who could do just as good a job for a fration of that.

Obonio:  It you choice to pay 35 for satelitte. You can stop anytime you like. But if you want a TV you have NO choice to pay for a licence
hopalong, your theories on the economics of celebrities are a bit misguided and simplistic. There may be plenty of people out there who 'could do just as good a job' for less than 100K. But, once these people are on telly, they want the same money too. Its called greed; it makes the world go round.
