Guiness is terrible?

I had a Guiness for the first time in about 5 years today... and i must say it was horrible, i couldnt wait to get back onto a pint of lager afterwards. It was like drinking cold coffee, why is it so many people rave about it? Even 5 years ago i didnt like it but still drank it for sake of drink! anyone feel the same?

Just because something isn't to your taste, doesn't mean it's terrible - just not suited to your palate.

Personally I like Guinness but can't stomach lager. It takes all sorts.

Although saying that...if it was a choice between Murphys and Stella...I`d drink the Murphys

guinness has flavour, whats lager got? gas and lots of it.
if you arent too keen on guinness, then pop into several wetherspoons and try one of their guest stouts. they�re usually far superior. or if you dont like pubs, then try marstons oyster stout, available in most large supermarkets
