My window got stuck way up. Motor still runs, so not the fuse. Managed to get the trim off, and coax the glass up by hand, its not secure tho. Can't afford the garage this week, must I invest in a copy of the Haynes manual [Local library haven't got in in the system], to guide me or is there a steop by step site anyone knows of? Thanks

Thanks TWR
Garage has just told me the part - it's the whole thing, is 190, install would be around 270. Perhaps I'll just glue it shut instead! Thank goodness it's got air con! Cheers
Hi, You can do it for 1/2 the cost, can you tackle the job yourself? check out EBay, 247 car spares, type in the make + Model of your car into auto spars for your motor, If you can manage the job yourself & I presume you can, all it takes is the tools, in that case Torx Screw drivers, a small sock set, time & most important, Patientence, do not be put off by the price you have been quoted look & ring around, price one garage against another.
I have just re-read what you have said, it is 1/2 way, it seems as if it is slipping on the up-position, you said you have taken off the door card to view the window mechanism, check the fitting of the pulley's! try lifting the window up-down up-down to see if you can see what the problem is, it could be a very simple problem, that's before you start spending money.

Cheers TWR Yes I'm going to give it a go, thanks for the gee-up, I think that's what I needed!
Hi, If I can offer any further help as we all try and do, Ask.
window regulator is cable controlled, what usually happens is that with wear and tear through time the cable starts to fray and james up the small wheels on the regulator.

the only cheap option is to take the dorr panel off, disenagage the window from the regulator and then prop the window up in the closed position with a peice of wood.
