Alton Towers

Going Alton Towers for the day tomorrow. Does anyone know if you can leave bags on the boarding platforms while you ride the rides or do you have to leave them in a locker?
One of my kids has to carry what is basically an emergancy life saver kit around with him and at one theme park we went to last year they wouldnt allow us to leave anything on the platform so he basically wasnt able to go on any roller coasters, which he loves.

They have cage-tyoe things that you can leave your bags in at the start of every ride.
