Sorry if this is the wrong area for this question but I need to know an answer and can not get it from the horse's mouth. I would like to know if The Smiler ride at Alton Towers theme park is going to be open next year in 2017.

I would hope so but I have heard rumours to the contrary. I hope some of your readers can put my mind at rest.

I have no idea but given what has happened decommissioning it and replacing with a new ride may be a better move overall, for public confidence and PR.
