Af'noon all,

Personal Antivirus popped up on my pc told me my pc was infected with several trojans and worms then installed itself - I tried to cancel this but it happened anyway.

I am currently running Zone Alarm anitivirus to see if any of these viruses exist etc.

I am completely confused as to how Personal Antivirus got onto my pc and how I remove it. I have already tried but it won't go.

Can anyone help?

This is NOT a virus, it is spyware or malware.

Usually it comes in via a dodgy web site (a program is downloaded while you are viewing a web site)

Having JUST anti virus is not enough any more, in fact it could be argued that spyware / malware is MORE of a threat nowadays than viruses.

Download malwarebytes, install it, select update to get the lastest code, then run it.

Run a quick scan AND a deep scan

pav sounds like malware, download mawarebytes and run a scan, see if that helps.

Not sure about how to remove it, you could try -computer- c drive- programme files. See if it`s listed there and right click, then delete.
Scan your computer with Trojan Remover
Trojan Remover easily remove Malware - Trojan Horses, Worms, Adware, Spyware - when standard anti-virus software either fails to detect them or fails to effectively eliminate them.
Trojan Remover is designed specifically to disable/remove Malware without the user having to manually edit system files or the Registry .

Please ignore my last post. I downloaded trojan remover to give it a try myself and my computer slowed down considerably. May be a coincidence, but it`s back to normal, now I`ve removed it.
