Open Office spelling checker problem

I have just upgraded my open office to the newest version BUT the spellchecker isn't working correctly. Even though I have the latest UK dictionary installed and it is supposed to be using it, it seems not to recognise a thi8ng I type in: every single word is underlined as being spelled incorrectly.
Everything was fine before I upgraded it.
Any ideas?

I've just updated mine and it works fine. There are two things you might try:

1. Click Tools/Extension Manager and click the Check for
Updates button

2. Click Tools/Options, open the Language Settings section and double check that your default language is still set correctly.

Have actually done that but to no avail.
As soon as I've finished present document, I'll uninstall and reinstall to see if that solves it.

You might be better off uninstalling your dictionary, and re-downloading and installing that.
