BG and some other electric and gas suppliers are cutting their costs. I got a letter from E.ON last month telling me of the reduction in electric prices. This just seemed a bit poor considering less is used during the summer months. Whats the betting the cost will go up again in October just in time for winter!

My electric use is constant whatever the season, and I'm on a key meter, so I have noticed the difference already - whereas I topped up once a week, it's now once every 10/11 days.

tigger - really hit them where it hurts then . Use air con and fans, make the most of this cheap electricity!

Supply and demand is the answer. There is less demand for electricity in Europe during the summer, so the price falls.

Cook loads of meals for the freezer, to be eaten over winter.

Thats a good idea Ethel. Trouble is I'll need to get loads of sealable tubs and maybe another freezer. Lol
good idea ethel - only problem is that the freezer when full will use less electricity and with it being cheaper at the moment she will still not get the benefit. Maybe she should leave the freezer door open.

Nice idea Jenna. I do like the smell of drying my washing out in the garden during the summer though.
Question Author
Lol Annie. Nice idea (again) but leaving the freezer door open will create frost.
Maybe you could leave your electricty running - fill up the bath with it and use it in the winter.
Yeah, then you can put on your heating to combat the frost - everyone's a winner!
