Expenses claims by members of the Cabinet, including the PM, being leaked via the Tory newspaper the Daily Telegraph. "More to follow."
Justified? Cynical ploy? Will Cameron & Co also be "exposed"? Can we really go to the polls and trust any political party in the UK not to rip us off?

No - all tarred with the same brush.
People moan about giving to those in receipt of benefits, or to asylum seekers, but never stop to think that their taxes are funding a lavish lifestyle for the ministers. Their "expenses" are ludicrous, and offensive to those who work hard and play by the book.
Its a chosen career for the perks.....bathplugs at tax payers expense - wooo hooo! sad?
I can't understand why people moan about these parasitic liars that "govern" us. Who puts them in office? The idiotic, gullible British public, that's who!
Well said that man
a stolen CD, apparently. Good to see the Telegraph dealing in such things. Apparently other papers were offered the details and refused to have anything to do with handling stolen property.
>Who puts them in office? The idiotic, gullible British
>public, that's who!

That is a rather stupid comment.

What other option do we have ?

It is MPs from all parties, so whoever we vote for they will all do it.

So suppose we say we are not going to vote. What purpose does that serve?

An MP could get in with just a few hundred votes, making it less democratic.

I am glad the Telegraph has exposed this, as some of these claims are bordering on the criminal.

They certainly move house, or live in certain areas, to maximize the amount they can claim.

Hopefully the public outcry will make them change the way expenses are claimed and paid.

And hopefully the worst culprits will lose their seats in the next election.
No mention of fraud as yet but people have been sacked and or imprisoned for less.
Can't wait for the PM to make the usual announcement but this time about himself re having the utmost confidence in the perpetrator. What was his line of expertise ??

When the dust has settled I can't imagine the MPs voting on any proposal that gives them less than the current arrangement. So what's the fuss about current expenses. Corruption means the rules have to be changed so they don't award them money for doing little.
So the only solution is to put them on a par with the rest of us. A payment paid for attendance plus an allowance to cover their travel. Second homes should never exist.
Pales into insignificance compared to the Euro gravy train.

I'm sure the 'leaker' will be lynched at sometime.
Why does Mr Brown need a London flat ?
"Nothing illegal has been done" and "Everything within the rules" are phrases that we will hear quite frequently over the next few months in relation to their expenses.

Honest and honourable people do not need rules - certain things go without saying. Any decent person can see that these people are dishonest, dishonourable, lying parasites.

Maybe this trough that they all have their snouts in, is the source of Swine Flu!
Living quarters at number 10 are probably limited - not exactly a family home.

Blair moved into the flat above number 11 which is apparently larger

BTW

Have we seen the expenses from the Telegraph's editor yet?
Funnily enough the Telegraph's editor is not paid by the Treasury.
Commision a block of flats in London... that's yours,,,that's yours,,,,and that one is yours, decorate them to a decent standard,(which is more than can be expected for Joe Bloggs in the street) have the ones with young kids on the lower floors, have security gates around them, then a security key-pad, with parking for cars in a secure basement,,,,!! sorted
