Hi, my laptop has recently started crashing after I input my password on the Windows Vista log-in screen. The screen just turns into rows of lines and I can't move the cursor. Sometimes it happens as soon as I've pressed enter or sometimes just after the desktop has started to load. I've scanned for a virus, but nothing came up. All I've been able to do is keep restarting until it lets me get past the login screen and hope it doesn't die. Any ideas what could be causing this?

It could be a graphics card issue. Have you updated your drivers recently?
chin85...can I just say that a system restore is not always the answer and could create more problems than you already have.
I would also avoid the site that johnpol has linked to,it charges for help that can be found elsewhere for free.
