Pairing bluetooth headset

Hi - can anyone tell me how I can pair my bluetooth headset (samsung make - came with my last phone, the G600) with my new mobile, a Samsung Tocco Ultra Edition S8300?? I've switched the headset on and the bluetooth on the phone and it doesn't seem to find it when it searches?? Thanks!

while the headset is switched off hold down the power button for about 10sec, the power light should come on steady (not flashing) once it's on steady the headset is in pairing mode, you can now search for it with your phone and pair with it (if it asks for a passcode it's 0000)
