I bought these in Sainsburys also with garlic cubes - now what I want to do know what receipes do you put ginger into. Thanks for your replies

They could be used in curries or chinese food, desserts maybe rhubarb would be good with these!!
In addition to what puddicat has said.... Cakes and biscuits.
I use ginger and garlic as a base for most stir frys I make.
Agree, stir fries and carrot and ginger soup
good with chicken beef and pork too (can you tell I am a gingerholic??)
Thai green curry.
Ginger tea....just add a bit of honey or brown sugar to sweeten it.
good idea pasta - i had not though of that one

sounds awful.
I freeze my own paste of fresh ginger root and garlic in ice cube trays. I pop out a cube or two as a base for all curries, bolognaises and chillis.
