and tenderness on the outside of the elbow and the back of the forearm. Caused by overuse of the tendon which connects the funny bone to the muscle that works the wrist and fingers. Treatment is any of the following. Ice packs, painkillers, ultrasound, cortisone/steroid injection or at the worse scenario surgery. I have had it twice and ended up having the injection which works in 48 hours. The condition is made worse by heavy lifting.
Pain that radiates from the outside of your elbow into your forearm and wrist

Pain when you extend your wrist

Forearm weakness

Pain that gets worse over weeks or months

A painful grip during certain activities, such as shaking hands or turning a doorknob

An inability to hold certain objects, such as a coffee cup

Can't think of anything else.

Well, my symptoms are:
muscle pain in the inner forearm
the inside 'knob' of the elbow feels as if it's bruised
lifting anything at all sends a shooting pain along the inner forearm
From the answers above I think it may well be tennis elbow.

Tennis elbow and golf elbow are caused by getting dehydrated during an activity. Try drinking loads of liquids for a week and see if it eases if not, ask about to find a good osteopath and after one session it should be clear.
I have got a frozen shoulder which is very similar and I find using a heat pad ( of the type you put in the mocrowave) helps me.
Oh dear - that should read microwave !!
