I have an answerphone where obviously callers can leave a message when I do not (or cannot get to the phone) my question is this:- because my brother does not have a computer (& therefore can,t send an e-mail) when we are talking on the phone & he's telling me a lot of stuff I need to remember, is it possible to record his conversations on the answerphone? sorry this is so long winded but I needed to explain the situation in full.

I suppose it depends on the make and model of your answerphone, but bear in mind many answerphones record only for a few minutes.
If you have a stand alone tape recorder, this gadget may be a cheap solution.

Back in ye olden tymes we used to write on a piece of paper & send it via Ye Olde Post Office , would this not work

Thanks mate what a Beverclugger you are.
That's made me laugh. :)
whiskeryron,
If you have Skype-in, and your brother calls you on that, you can use any one of a number of addons which allow you to record the calls. I use the PrettyMay call recorder, which pops up automatically at the start of each call and asks if you want to record it. I record all non-trivial calls.

Thanks rojash, Ido use Skype.
I cannot locate Pretty May Call Recorder, can you tell me where it is?
Please.
Pretty May doesn't seem to be free:

http://www.prettymay.net/

But if you open your Skype - tools - extras there is a free recorder called Pamela.
I don't know if it's any good though - I'm trying it now.
Hmmm - Pamela is free but has a 15 minute. If you want to remove that limit you have to pay for the upgraded version.

It keeps a diary of your calls, so you can find them and replay them easily.
Sorry, it has a 15 minute recording limit per call.

The basic, free version is a lifetime product and not a 30 day trial.

I have installed Pamela (the free version) and on answering the phone I got a pop up asking if I wanted to record the call.

Easy peasy.
