Just spoke to ex to see if flight was on time, and he says Ryanair charged him another 20 this morning for not having an offline ticket. I'm pretty sure when I booked flight for him, I selected Hold luggage + airort checkin and paid 30. WTF is an offline ticket, and how do I get one for his return journey, so he doesn't get ripped off for another 20 by this despicable airline?

did he have a printed out paper ticket from the online booking? you need these at manchester airport to scan in when you are on a domestic flight

No. I just booked the flight, and printed off the itinery with the confirmation number. When I rang him earlier, he couldn't really talk cos they were refuelling the plane. He just said he needs to get offline ticket for the return journey this Saturday. I had a dreadful time with them last month, too.
well I think you need to go back into the booking and print off a paper copy of the ticket but i may be wrong, it sounds like that's what they are asking him for, what else could it be?
I think Dot is right NoMercy. There is a place on their awful website where you can put your booking ref in and all your flight details will come up. I think, as Dot said, you just have to print that off.

I agree with you, they are a shambles of a company and they would charge you for breathing if they thought they could get away with it!

Hope you get it sorted.

I've no idea Dot, but it's a tad audacious to charge a passenger 30 for an airport checkin and then another 20 for not having an offline ticket. I have had problems each time I have flown with them, yet Monarch, BMI and the others are a pleasure to fly with. When I flew with Monarch in Feb, they asked me at checkin where I'd like to sit on the plane. For a laugh, I said a window seat with loads of leg room and two empty seats next to me. Bu66er me! That's exactly what I got !!! :-)

Thanks Abbs. He's going back on the 6:30 flight on Saturday, and I follow him on the Monarch flight 2 hours later. It means he's got to hang around in Alicante for 2 hours, but I was so disgusted with Ryanair last time, I vowed never to fly with them again. xx
tell him to go to the toilet before he gets on plane,as i heard they are now charging to use toilet on plane
Without taking a print off of the ticket with a small bar code on it you are made to pay 20 euros at tenerife airport.at the ryanair office .theres no facility to print at the check in desk and the office charges 20 euros..

people who fly with ryanair rarely check the full cost of the flight including hold baggage and taxes and feees and think that you can fly the world for 2 quid.
the whole setup is geared to confuse you.
personally i think you'd have to be mad to fly ryanair.15kg luggage allowance.then 15 quid per kilo over that?
compared to other carriers even if ryan air let you fly for a quid.if you took 20kg like most companies allow you ,globespan certainly do , then you'd have to pay an extra 75 quid for excess baggage to ryanair

for 5 kg ???

excess baggage booked in advance from globespan?10kg for 15 quid.

do the maths and book elsewhere.unless youre flying with hand luggage and are looking for a cheap flight avoid ryanair.

or be robbed.its your choice.
Unfortunately Im-dan.glee, from where my family stay in Europe, Ryanair are the only ones who fly there direct. So more often than not, they are the only choice and they know it.

We didn't book with them for the price, it was because the flight times were convenient. I flew with them last month, and they charged me 30 for being 2 kilos over, and you'd have thought they were doing me a massive favour by taking the 30 quid off me. So, do you know how I get this printout with the bar code?
its very awkward ive seeeen folk go online they need to boook online boarding less than 15 days before departure and print the ticket as well as the booking thingymy bob

basically if you have to fly ryanair then ur fkd

you neeed all the detials of course to go thru the process

ryanairs website deliberately avoids anymetion of offline tickets anywhere even in the search function

id suggest calling them.
