I just don't feel the need for one.

Who else doesn't have one?

I know cabbages don't as they don't have opposable thumbs. Or brains.

I didn't think that anyone in the UK had a 'cell phone' (which is an American term). Just about everyone (even young children) though, seem to have a 'mobile' ;-)

I try to use mine as little as possible. I'm usually unemployed but I get occasional casual work where I'm required to supervise teams of people who're often spread out over a wide area, so I need my phone purely for (occasional) work purposes. But I don't suppose that I use more than about a fiver's credit on personal calls during an entire year. (While work occasionally requires me to send a text, I've never sent a personal text in my life. I hate texting as a means of communication).

If I could 'uninvent' a few things, mobile phones would be near the top of my list!
MWB is in the other hemisphere Chris, anyway, i bet the signal would be quite bad down there, though of course, they must have broardband your way surely
I had to have a mobile when I was working as I travelled a fair deal - when I retired I kept up the habit but it is mainly for if I have any problems when in the car - and yes I've had to use it to call the AA so I definitely would not uninvent them....
'er indoors reminds me sometimes that about ten years ago I swore I would never have one.

Now I always have one with me, though I don't actually make many calls.

Lol - NOT.

You'd better be joking, dot, hun.

NZ is just as advanced as you lot.

I mean we just got the main rd paved yesterday.

MWAH!

actually i admit to having 3 mobiles, my work one that is a daft blackberry type thing that is incomrehensible, an 02 one to speak for free to No1 son and BF and an orange one that has free calls to my No 2 son and daughter (and anyone else orange) when you factor in the handsfree and the chargers they are a right maul to deal with
Do you stll have telephone boxes?

Ours are slowly being removed, because no one uses them any more. That makes it harder to live without a mobile.
Question Author
Yes, phone boxes. But it seems you have to have a phone card to use them. They don't take cash.

A lot of cell phone towers are hidden in other structures like church spires, etc.
Is that Winston Churchill's?
