Think its AAC but not 100% sure.
they don't use a format in the way your thinking of it. (the tracks on a CD are not files)

the CD has to be written to comply to the red book standard to be able to carry the Audio CD logo, if you want details of the standard look here

ChuckFickens is absolutely correct but if you burn a CD it will be burnt as CD. The closest ripped form to an audio CD is a PCM Wave file (I think).
Windows Media Audio (WMA).
Generally ordinary ca player reads .wma format.
