ok so i am selling a palm top. os is windows xp. How do ensure that the deleted information on the hard drive is erased? or how do I overwrite it? Plus it didnt come with a windows xp disk just a cardboard pack in plastic. how would I reinstall the os with no disk?

you need a bootable disk to reinstalled the windows in the palm top,

just delete the data from the computer as click on the file.

press the shift+Del key from the computer click OK and the data will be removed completely.
you can not reinstalled the windows with out the windows disk.
boot able windows disk is needed.

There are numerous utilities that can recover deleted files even if "shift+" deleted. Check what the disk you have is - it may be a reinstallation disk, or you may have a recovery partition.
